Support Our Chronic Disease Programs: A Place of Healing and Hope
At the Central Connecticut Coast YMCA, we believe in nurturing the whole person — body, mind, and spirit. Our chronic disease programs are designed not just to manage symptoms, but to empower individuals to live fuller, healthier lives within a compassionate community.
Our specialized programs include:
Rock Steady Boxing: A dynamic, evidence-based fitness program specifically tailored for people living with Parkinson’s disease. Through targeted exercises and coaching, Rock Steady Boxing helps improve strength, balance, and confidence, enabling participants to fight back against the challenges of Parkinson’s.
LIVESTRONG ® at the YMCA: A comprehensive wellness initiative for cancer survivors, offering personalized fitness plans, supportive counseling, and wellness education. This program helps survivors rebuild strength, reduce fatigue, and reconnect with a vibrant, understanding community.
Yoga for People with Multiple Sclerosis (MS): Gentle yet effective yoga classes designed to increase flexibility, reduce pain, and foster relaxation for those living with MS. This program offers a safe space for physical healing and emotional support.
These programs create more than just exercise classes — they cultivate a sanctuary of healing that addresses physical challenges while nurturing social connections and emotional well-being. Participants find a community of peers and caring professionals who understand their journeys, fostering resilience and hope.
Your support makes this possible.
Thanks to the generosity of donors like you, these programs are offered free of charge to participants. With your support, we can welcome more individuals into these life-changing programs, train compassionate and knowledgeable instructors, and ensure a safe, supportive environment for healing and connection. Every contribution helps sustain this vital lifeline for individuals and families impacted by chronic illness.
Together, we’re building a stronger, healthier community — where no one faces chronic disease alone.
