You might initially think of this as a night out for the parents, but it’s really a night out for your kids! The kids, Kindergarten-5th grade, will be involved in games, arts and crafts, and structured free play. The Y will provide them with a pizza dinner. Now, on the plus side … you get to have a little down time to yourself or enjoy a night out!

Adventure awaits! The Family Outdoor Survival Class is the perfect opportunity for families to get outside, learn together, and gain essential outdoor skills in a fun and hands-on environment. Designed for families with children ages 6 and up, this class meets every Saturday. Each week, participants will explore a new survival topic—from building shelters and starting a campfire to practicing outdoor safety. This class is perfect for beginners, campers, nature lovers, or anyone curious about how to thrive in the great outdoors. Come connect with nature, build confidence, and learn the survival skills that every explorer should know. A new topic every week means there’s always something exciting to discover! Please bring weather-appropriate clothing, water bottle, and a sense of adventure.

Gather around the fire and make memories with your family at our Family Campfire Nights! Join us once a month at the Lakewood-Trumbull YMCA for an evening of community, connection, and cozy campfire fun. Led by Unit Director Greg, each night kicks off with a family-friendly song or story before you settle in to roast marshmallows and enjoy s’mores under the stars. Please note: This is a family program—children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. This is not a drop-off event. Come unplug, unwind, and enjoy a night outdoors with us! This is a free event!

An interactive playtime where you grow together in a stimulating atmosphere, enhancing gross and fine motor skills. Activities include free play, circle time with songs, a musical parade, parachute, and more! 

This drop-off program is an opportunity for social and emotional growth with friends. It consists of circle time, free play, crafts, story time, and snack. Caregiver is to provide a snack - nut-free, please!
